The inaugural “ChoirsAlive!” Festival, was held in the fall of 2022. Together we celebrated our choruses’ ability keep our hope and unity during the hardships of the pandemic.
Another “ChoirsAlive!” is planned for 2024.
Through “ChoirsAlive!” we're welcoming every vocalist in their individual beauty to celebrate the gift of joyful harmony.
Participating choruses included OneVoice Mixed Chorus, Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus, See Change Treble Choir, KNOWN MPLS and ComMUSICation.
The MC for this concert was T Mychael Rambo, an Emmy Award-winning actor, vocalist, arts educator and community organizer that has been an active contributor to the arts here in the Twin Cities for decades.
He has appeared in local and national television commercials, feature films, HBO mini-series and other television programming.
T Mychael is also an accomplished arts educator, affiliate professor at the University of Minnesota (of over 20 years), as well as a highly sought-after public speaker.
The Great Northern Union is a member chorus of the Barbershop Harmony Society, whose vision is “Everyone in Harmony”. Singing together, we make something better. We bring the vulnerability of our humanity, harmonize with each other, and build bridges, uniting people of different backgrounds with open arms: Harmony in Union with Humanity.
